IASP Special Interest Group on Pain in Childhood

Financial aid to delegates from developing and currency-restricted countries

With the support of several sponsors, the SIG on Pain in Childhood invites delegates from developing and currency-restricted countries to apply for a financial support to attend the International Symposium on Pediatric Pain 2019 in Basel, www.ispp2019.org. Support includes registration for the Conference, Education Day and Gala dinner, as well as air fare travel and accommodation for a maximum of 6 nights organized by the ISPP Secretariat, as well as a small cash allowance toward meals not included in the program and ground transportation (except in home country). The purpose of these funds is to assist those countries to develop capacity to effectively improve pain management in children, by enabling participation in the Conference and Education Day, and for attendees to gain knowledge and develop professional networks that will be of short- and long-term benefit. Gender balance of recipients is an aim as well as representation of different research and professional disciplines.

 

Criteria for support of delegates from low and lower-middle income countries:
Essential:
• Be a resident of a developing country for ISPP 2019
• Be in a position to apply the knowledge gained in their own country
• Planning to attend Education Day and the entire scientific program
• Satisfactory grasp of English to benefit from attendance

Desirable:
• Have submitted an abstract to the conference
• Be a member of IASP SIG Pain in Childhood as of June 1, 2019

Receipt of applications will be acknowledged. Applicants will be advised as soon as possible of whether their application is successful.
